Belpahari:
Belpahari is a village in West Bengal situated about 35 miles from Jhargram. The pitch-black road from Jhargram to Belpahari is densely forested with tropical trees on either side. The place is surrounded by Sal, Mahua, Piyal, Sonajhuri, and Eucalyptus trees. The peaceful, scenic atmosphere of this village is mesmerizing. A beautiful waterfall is also found in this area.
Khandarini Lake:
Khandarani Lake is a picturesque reservoir surrounded on all sides by miles of mountains and dense forestland. The soft gurgling of the water flowing into the dam through the channels in the Dam is at once a captivating scene to behold. During the wintertime season, several bird species come flocking to Khandarani Dam and catch lingering, engaging in misery coops throughout the winter. You can grab a peaceful trip throughout the bank of the lake or just sit back and take in the view.
Ghagra Waterfalls:
Nestled in the midst of a hub of lush vegetation, the Ghagra Waterfalls is a tourist venue that hasn’t yet been fully explored. The roaring cascades of the Ghagra Waterfalls crashing over rugged-looking rocks supply a striking view for visitors. The impressive cascade of the Ghagra Waterfalls beckons visitors to marvel at the glistening beauty of the vision. The mystical forests and overgrown grass create an unexplained vibe in this location. Shooting the Bengali film Behula Lakhindar took its position in this area. The grandeur of the waterfalls is accentuated by monsoon weather.
Gurasini Hills:
Gurasini Hill is located 8 kilometres from Belpahari. The serenity of this location will make you feel serene and quiet. Gurasini Ashram sits at the base of Gurasini Hill. As the Ashram is a center of spiritual beliefs and practise, people from many walks of life come here to spend time in calm meditation. The center, inspired by the ideas of Lahiri Maharaj and Swami Yogananda, provides pilgrims with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience spiritual enlightenment.
Apart from the ashram, there are two temples, one of which is devoted to Lord Shiva and the other to Lord Vishnu. If you’re feeling adventurous, you may also visit Debi Ma Guha and Jagadananda Siddhi Guha.
Far from the crowds, Gadrasini Hill is a haven for colourful birds and an excellent location for bird viewing and photography. Finally, don’t forget to take in the spectacular bird’s eye perspective of the surrounding surroundings from the summit of the hill.
Terafeni Dam:
Tarafeni is located 7 kilometres from Belpahari. It is another appealing location where tourists are captivated by the sight of the ferocious sway of the river currents on the rough rocks, especially during the rainy season. It is here that tourists may stare out at the swirling currents of the river that crisscross the zig-zag routes. This barrage provides a vital supply of drinking water for thousands of people in the vicinity. Tarafeni River gets most of its water from Mukutmanipur Dam. Its beauty is enhanced when the Barrage discharges excess water from the canals, and the dancing and jumping currents of water leave one in awe of nature’s wonders.
Laljal Cave:
Laljal Cave is located 19 kilometres from Belpahari. Lalajal is a picturesque alpine hamlet. The settlement has Belapaharira prehistoric cave-men, as well as antiques. Here the spring water is somewhat reddish. The combination of copper and iron in water is pretty pleasant.
According to locals, the term lalajala comes from the red hue of the river. Deopahare is a prehistoric cave man west of the settlement. Sinlahara is located in the mountain range’s southeast corner. The settlement is located north of Ranipahara. Abahelitai remains a site of ancient civilization. The region is one of the world’s major natural marvels and tourism destinations.
Kankrajhore forest:
Kankrajhore is located 23 kilometres from Belpahari. Its beautiful forest and spectacular skyline leave one spellbound by the sheer chastity of nature’s elegance that allures visitors with its vast growth of trees and undulating mountainous terrain. Mazy trails crisscrossing natural foliage with Sal, Pial, Kendu, Simul, Bohera, Haritoki, and others leading to Kankrajhore without even the thought of travelling a distance of 23km is something to remember for a lifetime. Kankrajhore is also a popular destination for individuals interested in learning about the unique and fascinating aspects of tribal life.
Dhangikusum and Dungri Falls:
Dhangikusum is located 13 kilometres from Belpahari on the road to Kankrajhor; simply turn left from Chirakuti to reach Dhangikusum View Point. Mazy trails, ups and downs, crisscrossing roads, and untamed flora with Sal, Pial, Kendu, Simul, and others make for an unforgettable experience.
